What RPG should I play next?

Hi there! I'm desperate for a new RPG to play and can't find anything that looks good at the moment. I don't like any other type of video game, only play on PC's, and won't play anything that is sci-fi related. That is, no mass effect 1/2/3, FPS, or similar games.





Games I have played recently:


Neverwinter Nights and expansions (liked it)


Neverwinter Nights 2 and expansions (liked it)


Dragon Age Origins (liked it)


Dragon Age Origins Awakening (not so much)


All Baldur's Gate (liked them)


Divinity 2: Ego Draconis (bad)


Torchlight (bad, don't like Action RPGs, have to be more in-depth)


Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (didn't like until I added 50 mods)


Earlier Elder Scrolls (didn't like)





I'm not so interested in playing Dragon Age 2.





Thanks for the help!|||You seem to have a liking for the BioWare classic RPGs, so it's unfortunate that you don't like the sci-fi genre since ME 1/2 are crunchy RPG goodness. Have you tried Jade Empire? That's a BioWare oriental mythos fantasy RPG title from a little ways back that's always favorably viewed by RPGers.





Dragon Age 2 is probably more an Action RPG, which you say you tend to dislike. It still maintains a high quality story line and universe from DAO, which you did like. I never played Torchlight, but the Fable series is pretty light on the plot, so i understand. DA2 however is fairly more in depth. Just saying.





You can try The Witcher, which has been out for a while. Lost of quests, RPG goodness, lots of story going on. It's not linear at all.





Fallout 3 is going to fall into the sci-fi category, technically, but still an excellent RPG running on the Oblivion engine. I had to mod Oblivion out the yazoo as well. I only modded Fallout 3 somewhat. Having a rat or a deer chase you across the entire map like the Terminator to kill you by inches was the stupidest thing I ever encountered in an RPG. Once I got mods to correct that stupidity and a couple others, I was happy with Oblivion.





I've considered trying Mount %26amp; Blade, but haven't yet... it's more of a sandbox fantasy RPG. I haven't tried Divinity 2 either - What was wrong with it? The classless system looks interesting.|||why wont' you play dragon age 2? I heard it was good. Um...I like guild wars its an MMO RPG. But I heard the witcher (the witcher 2 is coming out soon) is supposed to be really good.|||portal 2 is the best game in the world|||Fallout 3


Fallout New Vegas





its a post apocalyptic game. New Vegas is better in my opinion





the story is that u are a courier and are taking something to the New Vegas Strip but are ambushed and ur package is stolen. so u have to find the guy who took it and get it back. also there are 2 factions. 1 is called the New California Republic (NCR) and the other is Ceasers Legion. u can choose which side to be on.





i love Fallout New Vegas because u have so much freedom. if u want, u can follow the story line, but if u don't want to do that u can just free roam the wasteland and find other missions to do for random people. its a great game
